The Spotlight Panel at the 2021 ICTA Convention "Mental Health: Picking up the Pieces after COVID-19",  inspired much discussion and left attendees hungry for more. We decided to host a special online (Zoom) event on October 19 to give everyone a chance to reflect more deeply and consider possible ways to implement the ideas presented during the Spotlight Panel.

Catherine Ross-Cook, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator at Homewood-Flossmoor HS, will continue the discussion with a focus on how we, as educators, must move to unmask disparities that have been hiding in plain sight, positing that we can no longer pretend that education or systems of knowledge are apolitical. As students cry out for a just and culturally responsive education, how do we meet their needs? We must first begin with the basics--understanding our situation. Forging ahead toward Educational Equity requires reexamining the 5 W's of the educational situation.

Find out what these are and how to address them on Tuesday, October 19 at 6:00 pm for this one-hour session.

Registration is FREE, and anyone can attend--you just need to register.

On Monday, a Zoom link will be sent to all who register
