Online Post-Convention Panel, Oct. 25, 2020
This year, ICTA hosted an Online Pre-Convention for Speech and Debate Coaches in August. Now ICTA is going to host an Online Post-Convention Panel on Tournament Standards and Duets, October 25, 2020, from 2 pm to 4 pm.
As the tournament season quickly approaches, ICTA initiates a conversation about tournament standards with coaches who have already hosted, or are about to host. The conversation will seek to offer guidance for coaches, students, and judges to help prepare for a new world of competition. Topics discussed will range from how to prepare your students to film, to judging guidelines for online competition. In addition, the panel will discuss the importance of duets and offer some suggestions about how to film and coach your students to success.
The Post-Convention Panel is FREE for Active ICTA members; the cost is $10 for others.
This event is over. Check the ICTA Home page for other events.
GIFTS goes ONLINE
We are now accepting GIFTS (Great Ideas for Teaching Speech) submissions! A submission can be anything that can be used in the classroom. This could be a full lesson, a classroom management strategy, a bell-ringer activity, a way you divide your class into groups, or any other teaching idea! Right now, our members are eager for ideas for teaching in an online or hybrid environment. Please record a short video of you describing your lesson and attach any resources you would like to share for the teaching idea as well. You can share a link to an unlisted YouTube video or the raw footage if it is in MP4 format. Use this form (https://forms.gle/uNK9uppW4Rw5Cot56) to make your submissions. Submissions are due NO LATER than Monday, October 12, 2020!
We will notify anyone that has been selected to be featured through any of the ICTA forums. By submitting a GIFTS idea, you are allowing ICTA to use the information on our website and social media network pages. Please give credit to any copyrighted material in your presentation.
